Valentine's Day promotions can be an excellent opportunity for businesses to engage with customers and drive sales through paid advertising. Here are some ideas for Valentine's promotions on paid advertisements that we use frequently at Finch or recommend to our clients.

It is important to note that while Valentine’s Day works great for some industries, like jewelry, events, travel/hospitality, fashion, and so on, it is important to think, “Does Valentine’s work well with what I am selling?”. 

Themed Ad Campaigns

Create visually appealing and themed ad campaigns centered around Valentine's Day. Use romantic colors, images, and messaging to evoke the holiday spirit. Things like “Love is in the Air: Unwrap Romance with Our Irresistible Valentine's Day Deals,” “Jewelry to sweep her off her feet,” and phrases like that.

Remember to change your ad copy back once the holiday season comes to an end. 

Discounts and Special Offers

Offer Valentine's Day discounts or special promotions, such as buy one get one free, percentage discounts, or free shipping. Highlight the limited-time nature of these offers to create a sense of urgency.

Gift Guides

Create gift guides for different categories such as "Gifts for Him," "Gifts for Her," “The Perfect Gift for Valentine’s,” or "Romantic Gifts." Use paid ads to promote these guides, helping customers find the perfect Valentine's Day gift.

Remember, consistency is key - use all your channels at your disposal to have consistency all around. 

Bundle Deals

Create bundles or packages that include complementary products. Advertise these bundles with enticing visuals and savings to entice customers to purchase more.

Targeted Social Media Ads

Utilize social media advertising platforms to target specific demographics and interests associated with Valentine's Day. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram allow you to create highly targeted ads.

For Valentine’s, I would also recommend utilizing Pinterest if it is at your disposal, as consumers often look for purchase inspiration on this specific channel. 

Retargeting Campaigns

Implement retargeting campaigns to reach users who have previously visited your website but did not make a purchase. Remind them about your Valentine's Day promotions through targeted ads.

Create Engaging Content

Develop engaging and shareable content related to Valentine's Day. This could include blog posts, videos, or interactive quizzes.

Use paid ads to promote this content, increasing brand visibility and engagement. I only recommend doing this on social channels like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. 

Google Ads Promotions

While social channels are really good at creatively promoting your products, we can’t forget to use Google Ads when the love birds are ready to purchase.

Remember those catchy headlines from earlier? Why not make some Valentine’s ad copy, benefit from the promotional extension, and broadcast your Valentine’s deals?

Email Marketing Integration

Combine your paid advertising efforts with email marketing. Send targeted emails to your subscriber list, promoting your Valentine's Day offers and linking to specific landing pages.

“Okay, but what about where we actually sell the products, what can we do there?”

Amazon Sponsored Products

Remember, we talked about utilizing all your platforms at your disposal? Why not create Amazon ads or feature some products that would sell well on Valentine’s?

Landing Page Optimization

Ensure that your landing pages are optimized for Valentine's Day promotions. Create dedicated pages that align with your ad campaigns, making it easy for customers to find and purchase the promoted products.

The landing page can make or break the customer experience. 

Influencer Collaborations

Partner with influencers who align with your brand and have a significant following. Have them create content or share posts about your Valentine's Day promotions to reach a wider audience.

Decide if you are more interested in micro-influencers or want to collaborate with the big ones. Both are viable options, so it depends on your budget and market.

Display Ads

Does your brand work better with display ads, or do you want the combined force of paid advertisements on different platforms? Don’t forget that there are also options for having your paid ads on TV, bus stops, or banner displays. This could really boost your brand awareness.

Remember to analyze the performance of your ads regularly and make adjustments based on the data to optimize your Valentine's Day promotions for better results.
